Greetings from the edge,
I finished 10 Horror Movies That Get Scarier the More You Think About Them late last night, but then got distracted by the return of Artemis II, so I ended up posting the article this morning instead. It’s live right now, and you should absolutely check it out.
I’ve now finished both Misery and The Silence of the Lambs, so the next article will probably be a side-by-side comparison. At the moment, I’m leaning towards The Silence of the Lambs, if only because I’ve been reading, writing, and watching a lot of Stephen King lately and don’t want to hit the point where I’m completely sick of him.
I started reading The Three-Body Problem last night. I’m only a few pages in, but it’s very good so far. I’ll admit my knowledge of history, especially the Communist Revolution in China, ranges from poor to catastrophically inadequate, so the book is functioning as a bit of a crash course.
I’ve also got The Word for World Is Forest looking at me coquettishly from the TBR pile (well, heap), so I’ll probably crack that open later today.
While we’re on the subject of input, I’ve also been reading How to Write Short Stories and Use Them to Further Your Writing Career, and re-reading On Writing, so I’ve got a full slate for now.
Keep your eyes peeled on the blog for any news or developments, and check out 10 Horror Movies That Get Scarier the More You Think About Them before you go. If you like films that sit in the back of your brain until 2 a.m. and then decide to haunt you while you’re brushing your teeth, you’ll probably enjoy it.
Work on the D&D setting is, by design, going very slowly at the moment. I’m planning to do a series of worldbuilding articles and use Valtheraine as a worked example. Then, once I’ve built enough of it publicly, I can release everything I have as a subpage for Crying is a Free Action.
That’s a problem for May Rob, though.
Right now, I’m April Rob: fuelled by leftover Easter chocolate, vape juice, and the firm belief that future me can deal with it.
See you in the margins,
