The second head that started to sprout about a week ago persists; I’m booked in for an MIR on Friday the 24th. No signs yet of any psychic abilities or superpowers, unless you count a persistent mild headache and slight nausea as superpowers.
I get the feeling that if it gets any bigger, I’m going to need scaffolding though.
I have finished a new article about times when the monster has a perfectly valid point (although they might not be necessary ‘innocent’)
The article’s general idea is that horror monsters are rarely innocent, but they are often evidence. From Frankenstein’s Creature and Godzilla to Candyman, the Xenomorph, Sadako/Samara, the shark in Jaws, and the zombie horde, this article puts the monster on trial and asks an awkward question: what if the creature is not the disease, but the symptom? Sometimes horror’s real terror is not the thing with claws, teeth, hooks, or cursed videotapes. Sometimes it is the world that made room for it, profited from it, ignored it, or called it unnatural after creating the conditions that brought it crawling into the light.
