Greetings from the edge,

Since I keep referring to my office as “The Broom Cupboard,” I thought I should finally show you the tiny creative engine room itself. This is where Rambles & Whimsy happens: books, screens, dice, plants, dragons, more tea than is reasonable, and a chair that has… seen things. It is not glamorous, but it is mine, and somehow words keep coming out of it.

As to the most frequently asked question: why do I have three screens?

Well, because I don’t have room for four.

Although, since these photos were taken, I have resurrected my old Kindle Fire. For some godforsaken reason, it seems to think I am currently located at Point Nemo, but I suppose we all need a hobby.

As for projects, I will be posting a new article on Crying Is a Free Action later today. I am also working on an essay for The Chop Shop about the “Final Girl” trope. On the back burner, I am writing up a playable scenario for Call of Cthulhu inspired by Michael Crichton’s Sphere.

My big project, The Echo Man novella, is also doing really well and is currently growing by small increments every day. Sound off in the comments if you would like me to post the original short story to the short fiction section of the site.

I am still submitting The Bone Garden to just about every magazine, journal, newsletter, and website I can think of. I will keep you informed as that particular little paper boat continues its voyage across the dark and shark-infested waters of publishing.

As always, shout out in the comments and let me know what’s on your mind. Or, if you are shy, you can email me directly at robinbdevlin@outlook.com.

See you in the margins,
