Greetings from the edge,
I have been keeping busy in flesh space. Various bits and pieces have conspired to keep me away from my keyboard; however, I’m back now, and I have a plan. The fact that the entire plan is just ‘do more work’ is neither here nor there.
As well as various broken computers and users at the library who need to know how to banish Cthulhu now they have summoned him, I have been busy on the socials and getting advice from my fellow bloggers on Reddit, and I am getting really good feedback. It also looks like I have a few more readers as a result of this push.
I have an article I have been working on for Crying is a Free Action, and that will be ready to drop on Monday (22/06/2026). I’m also looking at a few options like releasing a few set encounters that you can just drop into your own games. If I do decide to move forward with this, it will be a weekly feature that I will post on Wednesdays (giving you a couple of days to get the encounter into your prep for the weekend gaming session)
Very much looking forward to my summer holiday, it’s going to be an interesting one since I am booked to go on a cruise, and considering I once got seasick on a slightly wet pavement, we will have to see how well the travel-sickness bands and meds.
Finally heard back from Asimov’s science fiction, and it’s a no from them. This isn’t a problem, after all; L Ron Hubbard was widely published, and both H P Lovecraft and Franz Kafka never made much of a living during their lifetimes. All it means is I need to refocus and send it out to a different publication.
Currently working my way through an online course on writing by Alan Moore, and so far it’s pretty good, even if the introspection has left me puzzling over what my choice of teabag says about me as a person.
So that’s where I am: back at the keyboard, cautiously organised, mildly over-caffeinated, and trying to keep the whole circus moving in roughly the right direction.
See you in the margins,
