Greetings from the edge,

Having recently switched my painkillers from Tramadol back to sweet lady codeine, I’ve found myself achingly tired most of the time. The kind of tired where concentrating on anything more complex than when I can next have a nap becomes a challenge.

I’m hoping things level out once I get used to them. In the meantime, I’m writing when I can and still spinning my wheels waiting to get into the metadata. The found footage article is coming along, just slower than I’d like.

I’m continuing the process of removing AI-generated art from the site. I may even replace the header images entirely. The thing is… I actually like some of it. I know AI art is something of an oxymoron, and that it borrows heavily from existing work, but it’s undeniably convenient. If you want a goblin, you can find one easily enough. But if you want a goblin smoking a hand-rolled cigarette and looking spectacularly hungover, your options narrow quickly. You either need to be an artist, hire one… or get Skynet involved.

That said, I’m going to put a full stop on AI-rendered images for now, at least until I get feedback from readers who don’t know me and can give me a clearer sense of how it lands. Some YouTubers use AI visuals and do just fine, but I suspect that’s comparing apples to coconuts.

For now, stay tuned. I’m still aiming to have the new article live by the 27th of March.

See you in the margins,
